Work. Keep working.

I wrote a story titled "Sidewalks" and submitted to the fiction magazine, Glimmer Train. It was rejected, but that is ok. I've been submitting to  GT for years and have never once been accepted. It's ok. It's a premier magazine. The importance for any writer or artist to realize is that the working, the creating, the process being formed and experienced are all crucially important vehicles to further understanding yourself, the world and story. I will continue to work on it and perhaps submit it elsewhere. I've written a short short titled "Trains" and am planning on submitting to American Short Fiction's short short contest which is being juried by my favorite writer, Stuart Dybek. I don't plan on being accepted but I truly am finding sheer satisfaction in having Dybek read my work. If he actually chooses it, I will faint.
