Press and Opening Reception for Hands Up Don't Shoot - HER

Posted by Francesca Gagliano on Thursday, January 28, 2016
From the Twin Cities: Intermedia Arts, Obsidian Arts and the United Theological Society are collaboratively presenting the shows, Hands Up Don't Shoot--Her and Faith [In]Action, two exhibits responding to the value of black women's lives. My piece, "The Halves," which was shown in Chicago at ARC Gallery's show, "I Can't Breathe" will be exhibited in Hands Up Don't Shoot - Her.

The Minnesota Women's Press published an article about the exhibit and the line about Detroit is in reference to my work! Check the article out here: (http://eedition.womenspress.com/main.asp?sectionid=2&subsectionid=151&pageID=39) Marianne Combs, an arts reporter for Minnesota Public Radio will be previewing the exhibitions Faith [In]Action for an MPR story.

The opening reception is TOMORROW, Thursday January 28, 2016!
